Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of using a professional cat sitter?

Your fur babies can stay in familiar surroundings while being cared for by a professional insured cat sitter. Pets receive plenty of love and attention while in their own home.  Best of all their routine will not be disrupted. A boarding facility can be a traumatic place for a cat. There they are exposed to unfamiliar surroundings and the possible illness of other animals. A pet sitter will also watch over your home. Will notify you if there is a problem with your house or your pet. Also, bring in mail and packages, turn on/off lights and take out the trash/recycle bins to give your house a lived-in look.

Why choose Cats at Home Pet Sitting?

Choosing the right pet sitter to care for your furry family member is very important!  We offer you a complimentary Meet & Greet consultation. This will help to ensure that you and your furry friends are comfortable with us. Also, gives a chance to ask questions, and learn more about what we have to offer. We are more than just a pet sitting company. Our visits are not based on time like other area pet sitters. Each kitty and small animal pet has specific needs. Therefore, our visits are based on a flat rate, full service, and quality guaranteed!

Advance notice required before service begins?

To ensure availability, it is best to contact us as soon as you anticipate you will need our services. If a last minute need arises please do not hesitate to call; we may be able to accommodate you.

How much does a pet sitter cost?

Professional Pet Sitters at Cats At Home are individual business owners who set their own prices. Your pet sitter will discuss services and pricing at your initial complimentary meeting. Often Pet Sitter will be able give you an estimate of cost prior to your initial meeting.

When do I pay for services rendered?

Clients generally pay for our pet sitting services by the first visit of the service period. However, exceptions may be arranged. Some of our pet sitters accept credit cards. Other pet sitters are in the process of establishing credit card payments.

What information is required to establish service?

At your Meet and Greet, your pet sitter will bring a copy of our service agreement. The information needed is as follows: personal contact information, emergency contact information, veterinarian name & number, pet(s’) information including medical history, and proof of current vaccinations. We will also need a key to your home and the names of anyone else who may be entering the home while we are caring for your pet.

What if my pet sitter has an emergency while I am away?

If your pet sitter has an emergency, we will make every effort to contact you for your approval before sending over another qualified pet sitter to take care of your furry friend. If this is not acceptable, you have the right to cancel the current service and make other arrangements.

What do I need to have prepared before I leave?

Please make sure you have left enough supplies such as cat food, cat litter, medications, and treats to last the duration of your trip. Also, please leave out your pet food & water bowls, and any cleaning products in case there is a mess that needs attention. If you are a repeat client, please be sure to inform your pet sitter of any changes in the health or routine of your furry friend.

What happens if my pet has an emergency?

If an emergency should occur your pet sitter will follow the emergency instructions you provided on the service agreement and try to contact you and/or your emergency contact person immediately.

What should I expect when I return home?

You will find happy kitties waiting for you and a well-cared-for home!  We ask that you call us when you return home, so we can be certain you have arrived home safely and no longer need to care for your pet. Delays often happen; we assume that you have not arrived home until we hear from you. We will continue to visit your pet until you confirm that you are home.

Jay has watched my cat, Harriett, several times in the past year, with zero issue. They respond quickly when I text to check in, and Harriett is always happy and healthy when I get home. In addition, they always grab my mail and anything else that is needed. I highly recommend their services! So much to better than putting your pet in a small kennel/box while away!
